How To Find The Best Carpet Company For Your Home

Now that the April sun is streaming into the windows, you look around and notice that your carpets took a beating over the winter and maybe it is time to replace them.

So, you look around for a carpet company to help you. But who do you hire? In some areas, it can seem like there are so many carpet companies to choose from… and if you are not a professional carpet installer yourself then you might not know the difference from one to the next!

Here are some tips to help you pick the best carpet company for your home…

Tip #1. Check to make sure the carpet company you are looking at has certified installers that have been properly trained. Any carpet installer could claim to be certified, but most aren’t. Don’t just let anyone install your carpets if you want them done right.

Tip #2. Similarly, check to see if they are insured. After all, accidents do happen and you want to make sure that they are insured to repair or replace anything they break. (This is one of the most important reasons why you should never let a non-insured person install your carpets. If they break something, you have no recourse to have it replaced without paying out of pocket for it yourself.)

Tip #3. Get references for any carpet company. If it’s a good company, they are going to have online reviews that show them to be on-time, effective, and fairly priced. Look for mostly 4-5 star reviews and compare the number of reviews to other companies.

Tip #4. How will they notify you when they are on their way? A company that values your time will send a text message and call when they are on the way.

Tip #5. When you find a potential company, ask them how they choose their employees and if their employees have been drug tested and background checked. This will give you peace of mind that you know who they are sending to your home.

Tip #6. You should always be wary about who you allow into your home so make sure the company tells you who your carpet expert will be, and when they show up make sure they have a name badge that identifies them.

Tip #7. Consider why you are hiring them. Some people just choose a company because they have a discount but you should always consider the full picture of the company—who they are, how long they have been in business, what types of homes and carpets they specialize in, and of course whether they are licensed and insured, with background-checked employees.

Your carpets work hard to make your home comfortable and safer for your family! That’s why it’s so important to work with a carpet company that cares as much about your family as you do!
